Your family members deserve strong and healthy smiles. Little did you know, strong and healthy smiles can help them have attractive teeth, help them chew and speak normally, help them avoid dental issues, and even help them avoid toothaches and other dental pain. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help them have top-notch smiles, and our dentist, Dr. Jeff Tufarolo, is happy to tell you all about them, which are:
-If you have a baby, start them on an oral hygiene regimen as soon as their first little chomper grows into place. This means you should use a child-sized soft-bristled toothbrush to clean their teeth twice a day.
-Encourage your family members to protect their molars with dental sealants. These shells can keep tooth decay and enamel erosion at bay.
-Make sure everyone gets the fluoride exposure they need. Fluoride is a natural mineral that strengthens the tooth enamel and helps the smile. It’s best to get fluoride exposure by brushing with fluoride toothpaste, drinking fluoridated water, and receiving professional fluoride treatments.
-Make sure everyone brushes twice a day, flosses and rinses daily, and visits their dentist every six months.
-Change everyone’s toothbrush every 3-4 months or once the bristles have frayed.
